Is there entertainment !?
Fantastic fish tacos, though I happily enjoyed the mahi mahi they had instead of the grouper that day. Enjoyed a nice breeze on the patio during a hot day.
MoreDelicious food. The blackened grouper basket was excellent. Staff was friendly and attentive. Would definitely go again.
MoreAmazing burgers!! Had a great time here multiple times and some times not so great due to not so friendly bartender. But overall great.
MoreGreat place right on the canal, we docked the boat got some lunch. Friendly people nice atmosphere
MoreWoody's is a Pine Island institution, but is out of the way for me and often crowded. I had never stopped to check it out for myself. I dropped in early on a Saturday afternoon, in late May so out of season. The place was busy but not crowded and we easily found a spot outside on the water (canal, not seaside). I'm a grouper fan, and the sandwich at Woody's ranks right up there. My friend had fish tacos and pronounced them very good. There was decent live music, but quite loud if you are sitting too close. Waiter was personable and service prompt. Three star type of place, adding a fourth because my grouper was impossibly fresh and really good.
MoreProbably a bad time to go at lunchtime in full season. Seated ourselves right away, but ordered food and waited one and one half hours for kitchen to deliver it to table. Nice atmosphere, decent food, good enough prices, but draft beer pitcher was a disappointment with the 16 ounce "cool can" in the middle. However, it really did keep the small amount of beer very cold on a hot day. We will be back when it isn't so busy.
MoreFood was great, atmosphere was perfect for the loud family group we had there.
Have been driving by this place for years. Wish I'd gone in sooner. Great service. Good food. Cold beer.
MoreLoved the ABC Burger and their seasoned fries are the Best on the Island! It wasn't my fav entertainment night, but we like Woody's a lot! One of the few places on the Island that serves more than beer and wine, so bonus points for that!
MoreVery nice bartender. Nice location.
Woody's is a fun place to eat. You can drive up your boat and it is pet friendly! Try the mango coleslaw!
MoreAhi tuni to die for! Coconut shrimp wrap is excellent. JJ was a great waiter
This was really good. A really nice spot to have lunch and beer. Nice end to the tour of the island.
MoreGreat waiters, food was delicious. There's enough menu variety but not overloaded, American style food. The Saturday night crowd was a mix of locals, families and bikers. There was tables and a bar both inside and out, we sat at a covered table outside as the sunset over the canal was gorgeous! We definitely recommend this place and commend the staff running the place.
MoreVery good food and view. Enjoyed the conch fritters, coconut shrimp wrap , husband had the peel and eat shrimp (big shrimp). Staff very friendly, kept checking on us for refills.
MoreReally awsome place definitely a must to visit, great atmosphere I wish I had a boat so to use the boat slip. The only drawback here is nothing was gluten free but the salad.
MoreGreat food. I ordered the Coconut Shrimp which was excellent. I have been here twice and both times was great. recommended.
MoreHad the shrimp basket. The shrimp were great 👍 as usual 😋.
Great Island Atmosphere! My husband and I are regulars at Woody's. Everything from their drink menu to their dinner menu I'd recommend. I especially love the Ahi Tuna and Crab Balls. The shrimp tacos are fantastic and the new GIANT pretzels are fun to share with a good IPA beer. The view down the canal and waterside dining is what brings us back.
MoreGreat view of canal and boats, dock for boats to tie up. Good food. AND they like the Patriots!
MoreVery nice place. Great atmosphere. Relaxing and fun. I had the Grouper Sandwich without the bun. Great place.
MoreNice outdoor seating on the canal with moorings to tie up to if you boat in. Good food. Grouper sandwich was exceptional with a large portion of fish. Very busy place, but they handle it well.
MoreWe went there with our Shell Point group on our 24 passenger pontoon boat. What a fun trip. Great weather and so interesting to explore the canal homes on the way to Woody's. Great bar food and libations of your choice. Most friendly staff and just a cool open air, canal side dinning experience.
More4 of us went in for lunch. All meals were great
We had an amazing meet at Woody's Waterside on August 1, 2020. Perfect tropical outside seating on the water, fun/fast service, great seafood and refreshing tropical drinks. They easily handled our group of 40 people with quick service. Highly recommend!
MoreWe had the bisque, it was hot, but when it was served it had a film on top like it had been sitting out. Asked for hot sauce and had to clean the top of the bottle before I could use it. Fish tacos (blackened) had no taste. Only water to drink was tap water which tastes terrible here. Red flag when we asked what was good the answer was "everything".
MoreGreat service. I had the California chicken wrap which was better than expected. The chicken was at the right temperature. My husband had a tuna wrap. The tuna was seared to perfection. They had a couple playing music on the patio. This made for a perfect Sunday afternoon along the canal.
MoreThe food is always great. Best Reuben ever! Come by car, bike or boat.
Only 3 stars here. Not because of the food ! Food was great ! Coconut shrimp, cold peel and eat shrimp, Shepard pie. Mmmm all was good. Great flavor. Service sucked. Waitress was un-attentive. Sat there over April minutes before she came to our table. Took forever to get our drinks and then she abruptly left. We were ready to order. When the kitchen runner brought our dinner to the table I asked for another beer. He says I'll let your server know. Well he didn't. 10 minutes later she walks by i say could I have a Coors light. It was 10 minutes later. Friends wife was getting impatient at the end because it took so long to cash out. Like I said though food was very good. But don't expect service to follow.
MoreMy father went there last weekend, 8/2/2020 for a friends birthday. Same result (as Terry Peterson). Servers not wearing masks. He wasn’t excited about going to a restaurant to begin with, figured he’d help his friend celebrate and support a local business. He will never return.
MoreThis woodies is better simply by location. The view and home town goodness you get is worth the sketchy drive during season, dodging blind elderly snowbirds and occasions motorized wheel chair. They have most domestics, and a good blend of craft brews. Most the food is great and seafood is locally source. This is a lunch time place, they close a tad bit early for most 65 and under crowds. Had a chicken Ruben on a pretzel bun👍.
MoreLove the place but want staff to wear masks. At lunch today I didnt see a single mask, staff or customer.
MoreThe food is tops for this area! Had an ultimate grilled BLT and onion rings perfect for a Sunday afternoon with live music! A must visit!
MoreWoody's is always a great place to sit and relax with the live music! Love the boats going by and the food is excellent!
MoreGreat place to enjoy drinks and appetizers the atmosphere was fantastic
Great waterfront location. Good food, too!
Great place! Needed some fans on patio today....whew it was hot. Add some fans. Thx!
MoreGreat water views. We ate on the water. Food was great.
Beautiful waterfront views - fun watching boat traffic and pelicans fishing. Frequent live music, friendly wait service, delicious lobster crab bisque, sweet tea and the hugest baked pretzel ever! Very dog-friendly outside on deck with dog menu items!
MoreFood was very good, service quite fast, beautiful setting and no wait. Would return!!
MoreEnjoyed a great burger and a delicious fruit salad. Their potato salad was very good, too. We sat at the bar to eat and the bartenders were great!
MoreGreat outdoor atmosphere with tiki bar and view of canal underneath coconut palms. Good service, beer, and the seared tuna appetizer was delicious. All other things I've had there was good.
MoreGreat service. Gorgeous view. Our server, JJ was absolutely incredible! Will definitely be coming back!
MoreI love Woody's - another one of my fave stops when I'm in SWF. Best to go when the sun's out to sit on the patio and watch the boats go buy while you sip a frosty beer. I always go for the blackened grouper sandwich, but everyone in our group had something different and everyone loved it. The live music was a first for me, and a nice touch.
MoreGreat place. Good food and service
Good food, service lacks in season.
Sign said seat yourself. Sat down. Got told, rather impolitely, we couldn't sit there. Left. It could've been handled better.
MoreWe enjoyed our lunch here. The food was very good and the menu offered selection better than the average bar food. It was nice outside along the canal. Enjoyed watching the boats coming and going. Woody has a very large selection of draught beer.
MoreWe needed a quick lunch while in Pine Island on business, and this was perfect, right on the canal, it was nice to watch boats going by while enjoying a glass of beer and reuben sandwich. Fast, polite service and for the location, in my opinion, reasonably priced. If in the area, will definitely visit again!
MoreMy thoughts and review of Woody's Waterside in St. James City, Florida.Woody's Waterside is a laid back bar and grill on Pine Island, Hernando County, Florida named after the family dog. They serve better than most bar and grill type foods in a friendly atmosphere attached to a canal to dock your boat and enjoy a happy hour. The highlight is #buoy sign recreating the southernmost point sign from Key West with a twist in words. You can read the full review by visiting the Wine Dine and Play blog website
